Tom Leyshon

I’m a EPSRC funded Ph.D. student in the Theoretical Systems Biology Group, supervised by Professor Stumpf. My project involves looking into the underlying mechanisms of stem cell differentiation using methods from non-equilibrium statistical physics.

Before starting my Ph.D. at Imperial I achieved a first class degree (Mphys) in physics at the University of Manchester. Within my master’s research projects I looked into the evolutionary dynamics of cancer initiation, as well as modelling the adsorption process of COE-3 antibodies onto a silica surface. I have previously been involved in research projects at University of Manchester biophysics group, Freie Universitat Berlin theoretical chemistry group, and the Ross lab at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
